What are the requirements for living at the Regency?

To be eligible to apply for occupancy at The Regency, you must be enrolled in school. You must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credits per semester for at least two (2) semesters of a traditional academic year, or as a graduate student, for a minimum credit load of five (5) credits per semester for at least two (2) semesters of a traditional academic year. This eligibility requirement may be waived by the General Manager at any time.

If I take less than six credit hours, can I live in the community?

Students who are enrolled in less than six credit hours can request permission, in writing, to live at the Regency and their application will be taken into consideration.

How do I go about leasing a room at The Regency?

What lease options are available? The first step is filling out an application for student housing. You can download the application or fill it out online. When you submit the application along with the required application fee you will be guided through the rest of the process by The Regency leasing specialists. You may also apply and pay online.

What is the deadline for application?

There is no deadline for submitting applications. However, rooms are assigned on a date priority, space available basis, so it is better to send in an application sooner rather than later.

Is an application fee required?

Deposits may be required and may be provided by cash, certified checks, personal checks, or paid with a credit card when your application is submitted online. All checks should be made out to The Regency: Auraria’s Student Housing Community, LLC.

What happens to my room contract if I drop out of school?

If you withdraw or drop your classes during the semester, you will be held responsible for the room and board charges outlined in the Lease Agreement.

How can I arrange for a site tour?

What transportation options are available at The Regency?

The Regency provides a free bus shuttle for residents to and from the Auraria Campus. In addition, there is a RTD bus stop located at 38th Avenue and Fox street and RTD has proposed a Light Rail Stop at 38th and Inca Street. We are also talking with the city of Denver in order to get The Regency connected to the city bike path system.

How does The Regency ensure the safety of residents?

The safety of our residents is our top priority. The Regency is a gated community and the building is only accessible with an access card, after 5 p.m. all weekend long. The parking lot is well lit and high-tech security cameras are located inside and outside of the building. The Regency also has Community Assistants ( “CAs ”) on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Resident Director ( “RD ”) is also on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to further ensure the safety of the residents.

May I choose my roommate(s)?

Yes, you may request the person or persons with whom you would like to room. When requesting roommates you will need to provide the first and last names of each individual. Roommate requests are honored on a date priority and space availability basis.

May I change roommates after the residence halls open?

Residents should talk with their Community Assistant (CA) or the Director of Student Life in order to try and resolve roommate conflicts. The Regency tries to work with students to create and optimal living environment for all residents. However, due to space availability, we sometimes are unable to make requested changes immediately.

Is The Regency closed during semester breaks, spring break, or summer vacation?

No, as long as your Lease covers the timeframe in question. The Regency is open year round to residents.

What is the technology infrastructure at The Regency?

The Regency is a high-tech living environment. Residents will each have high speed Internet access available in their rooms. Some of the common areas at The Regency are equipped with wireless Internet access. Computer labs are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If financially feasible The Regency recommends all students have a personal computer to facilitate their learning. In addition to the computer lab, The Regency conveniently offers a computer bar with ipads for community use.

May guests visit me at The Regency?

Yes. However, each resident assumes FULL responsibility for his or her guest(s). All guests must check in and out at the front desk. Overnight guests are allowed for a maximum of two (2) days. All overnight guests must sign in at the front desk.

If I am 21, may I drink in my room?

Only residents who are 21 years of age or older may possess and consume alcoholic beverages in their own bedroom. Open containers and bottles are not permitted outside of your bedroom. All public spaces, including lounges, lobbies, hallways, computer rooms, etc are alcohol free. Residents and guests are required to comply with all federal, state and local laws. In addition, residents are not allowed to possess beverage containers larger than those for single consumption purposes.

What are bedrooms at The Regency equipped with?

The rooms at The Regency are fully furnished with a bed, desk, desk chair, and dresser. Suite units include a couch, soft chair, end table, coffee table, and an entertainment center. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. All bedrooms are outfitted with basic cable television service, high speed Internet service, and local telephone service. Many rooms in The Regency Tower have incredible views of downtown Denver and the Mountains. View our floor plans.

What appliances may I use in my bedroom?

Refrigerators and microwaves are allowed in The Regency bedrooms. However, they must meet the following specifications:
Refrigerator: Max. Capacity 4.0 cubic feet, 1.5 amp, and UL approved
Microwave: Max 1000 watt.

May I bring my own bed?

Beds are provided in each bedroom at The Regency, however if you would like to bring your own bed, arrangements must be made prior to your move-in date. Once you have signed your lease and have a confirmed move-in date and time, advise the leasing manager that you will be bringing your own bed.

May I have posters/pictures on walls?

Students are encouraged to decorate and personalize their rooms using push pins or thin nails. Posters and framed pictures are allowed on the walls, but NOTHING may be attached to the ceiling, including stickers and decals.

May I paint my room?

All painting is conducted by the maintenance crew. If you feel that your room needs to be painted, please complete a maintenance request form.

May I put up my own curtains?

Each bedroom at The Regency is equipped with mini blinds. No additional window coverings may be added.

What dining facilities are available at the Regency?

The Regency offers a dining hall and convenience store (The RAIL). The dining hall will have varied menus daily that include vegetarian meals. All residents will be required to choose a meal plan. Students have a variety of affordable meal plans from which to choose.

Is there an ATM in the community?

There is an ATM in the community, located next to the convenience store. The ATM is owned and managed by Cash Systems, Inc and there is a $2.50 charge for each use.

Are their banks in the area?

The closest bank is Wells Fargo. Other banks in the area are Chase, Vectra and First Bank.

How do I know my move-in day & time?

When you receive your lease, the cover page will have your move-in date. It is recommended that you check in between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on your move-in date.
